Thank you so much for being a part of podcast lunch, and good to have you here today. Hi, Becca,

1:18
thanks for having me. Yes.

1:21
So I just wanted to talk with you today about how did you decide like a coat? I know your life coach, just aim different kinds of life coaches? Like what prompted you to to go that direction?

1:37
Yeah, great question. Thanks for asking. So I was a hairdresser for almost 30 years. And I always say, I was one of the original life coaches behind the chair. And I saw a lot of women walking around with really great haircuts that were not so happy. And I had been working all those years transforming the outside of them. And I really began to wonder what if I could help them transform the inside of them so that their outside match their inside? Or vice versa? Yeah. However, that goes. Yeah. And so as my back became problematic from leaning over the shampoo bowls all those years and standing with my arms in the air, it was looking for what might be next. And I found out about this coaches training program. And it was a year long program. And I was also encouraged or not encouraged. I was also told that I would be looking at potentially everything in my life that I might coach someone on. And after being just two and a half years sober. I thought, wow, this is taking this being sober and being conscious, even a few steps further. And I was really interested in seeking that information and growing myself.

3:02
Yeah. Yeah. So you had been on a journey already of becoming sober. Yeah. And then you thought you had kind of probably learned some tools, which were coaching tools, which you didn't know, oh, I could use these to help other people. So if I go through a coaching program, yeah, that seems to happen with a lot of us, right? We go through something in life, we find tools that work for us, but we really want to help other people use those tools. Yes, yeah. It's an amazing gift to have life coaches, I feel like in our world, you know, yeah,

3:34
I think everyone can benefit from a coach, whether they feel stuck, they want something to change, or I mean, those are usually the things that bring people to coaching. But if you've got a great life, and you hire a coach, you're going to have even a greater life, like, we are only here for a short time. And so that's a lot of thing. things, you know, getting a cancer diagnosis, that really brings you to Wow, life is short, you don't know when that is going to be over. And let's live and be as awesome as we can. And live life fully alive.

4:14
Exactly. And and I just want to say in our longer interview, we talk more about the cancer diagnosis. So I want to remind people that there is another interview coming up with Bonnie and you'll want to, you know, subscribe to the podcast to make sure you get notified of that. But I'm just curious, then how do you help people now like in the coaching business you're in? How do you help people?

4:37
I really help people see what it is that they can't see for themselves. Like, almost everybody knows there's something maybe missing in life or not working but they don't know what it is. And I have been gifted with an intuition that I am able to get in there and know that I just know like it My intuition just knows. And, and I, I meet people where they're at, without judgment or blame, and bring things to their conscious awareness that then they can change if they want to. But they can't change what they don't know. And really helped them see those things, among a lot of other things, but that's probably the biggest thing that makes the biggest change. And then we move on from there.

5:29
Yeah, I feel like it's kind of about bringing awareness. Like, I think that's what coaching is about, right? Helping people be aware of things that they just never noticed before. Yeah, about themselves. Right? What they're like, yeah.

5:45
So everybody's busy doing life. And they don't slow down enough and get present, to just be and know who they are, when they're just being. And when we stand fully and who we are. What we do is then so completely different.

6:05
Right? So that's actually a really good lead into my next question, which I asked all of my, all of my guests, like, what is something that you can tell the audience about how they can lean into living a unique life for themselves, like more in alignment, right? Because both you and I have been working on this together in a group that we're in living more in alignment with who you're really meant to be? Or what you're meant to do in this life. Because I think there's so much conditioning that happens as a as a child, right? We get conditioned from religion, we get conditioned from society, from our family, from our teachers, our parents, from everybody telling us well, this is what you have to do to be successful, or this is how you're supposed to live life. And what you and I have been recognizing for a while is no, actually we have our own way. And how would you say based on your experience? How would you tell somebody? Like what are some steps they could do? Or what would some advice you'd have for people to

7:11
last? A lot of time when I'm working with somebody and I asked him a question they'll they'll give me it's almost like a it's almost like they are out of matter. Yeah, they almost got antsy. Yeah, yeah. And those questions are coming from your mind. And so what I really encourage my clients to do is to get present. And by doing that, I asked them to take a few deep breaths, close their eyes, and feel into their body, because our bodies Don't lie. And so if we're feeling into our body with our eyes closed, and we just listen to come from our heart from our soul, we can hear some answers. Sometimes people don't want to hear those answers, because it will require some change. And people, you know, a lot of people have a hard time with change, because it can be scary. But really breathing into slowing down. A lot of times, I will get clients that come to me because something big has happened in their life. And I'll say pausing, let's pause, the pauses the purpose, and the purpose is in the pause. But you have to slow down enough to get out of your mind and into your body. We all have our own innate wisdom, but we have to slow down to hear it. Right and, and then I can guide them through that because it's not an easy process to do on your own. Any coach can probably guide you down. But that's one of my gifts is guiding you down into that. And knowing that the questions to ask, so that that's probably one of the biggest things. The other thing that I often invite my clients to do in the beginning of working with them is to start journaling. putting pen to paper. And writing is so interesting to see what shows up. Because your mind really, lets go and your heart really starts speaking to you. And then to go back and read what you've written. It's very surprising for a lot of people, and it's very empowering.

9:22
