This is part 2 of the discussion about what your personality profile in Human Design shows about how you are designed to show up in the world.
Grab your free Human Design chart at https://mybodygraph.com, find the 2nd number in your personality profile, and listen in!
Go back to last week's episode to find out about the first part of your personality profile. This was the MIND/conscious number that relates to your life's work.
Today we are looking at the BODY/unconscious number that relates to your essence.
Today you'll learn:
- What each of the lines means in the 2nd position of the personality profile
- How this relates to your energetic essence
- Where to use this information to see how you can be more in alignment and in flow with your gifts and talents
I will be releasing my BLOOMED program within the next few months, so stay tuned if you'd like to go deeper on how Human Design can help your life, business and relationships feel easier, less stressful, and in alignment with who you are here to be.
In the interim, I am still doing chart sessions over at this link: https://rebeccatervo.com/design.
Rebecca Tervo: So today is part two of the Personality Profiles in Human Design. If you didn't get a chance to listen to last week's episode, go back and listen to that because that will cover the first line in your personality profile. Today, we're talking about the second line in your personality profile. This is such a fun topic for me ... So I just wanted to do a little series, covering both of the lines and tell you what that could mean for you in your life, in your business, in your relationships, all the fun things. So stay tuned.
Rebecca Tervo: Welcome to Beautifully Bloomed, the podcast where we explore how to break you out of the box of rules and beliefs that are holding you back from the life you're meant to live. I'm your host, Rebecca Tervo. Join me as I share mindset tools, coaching conversations, and Human Design, to help you uncover your unique gifts and create the life, relationships and business you desire.
Rebecca Tervo: Okay, so let's start again, just going really briefly over what I covered last time because last week, when we talked about the personality profile in Human Design, I told you that this is kind of like how you show up in the world, how your energy kind of is felt by others and how you create and how you kind of move around and find your own place. So I would say that in the first episode, which was again last week, go back and listen to that if you haven't, the first line is more about a conscious thing. It's what we are focused on and probably if you listened to me describe what your first line was about, you probably could really tell that, "Oh, for sure. That really resonates with me." Usually that's the case. What happens sometimes with the second line is because it's on the unconscious side of the body chart, because it's sort of the body, not the mind, it's not something we're consciously focused on.
Rebecca Tervo: It can feel a little bit like, "Oh, is that me?" And what sometimes happens is other people see more clearly that that is a part of who you are. They can see it and you might not be seeing it as clearly. So what I would love to talk about today is what the second line in your personality profile could mean about you. What if you brought more awareness to what that second line means for your work, for your life, for your business, for your relationships? What happened when I found out that my second line was a four, is I, at first, I didn't understand, for one thing, when you read traditional Human Design books and they use the traditional Human Design language, sometimes it doesn't feel like something that really describes you. That's number one. I love the idea that there's these new Human Design teachers who are putting new language to the personality profile and to the types ... and really helping us be more empowered in the way that we use the language.
Rebecca Tervo: So when I found out that I was a line 4, and in the traditional Human Design world, line 4 meant opportunist. That really didn't speak to me at all. I was like, "What the heck does that mean?" So I want you to take into context that if you have read the traditional language of Human Design, what other language is out there to support the essence of the energy of the line? So I'm really excited today because I am sharing now, in a more holistic way, what the language has meant to me from a lot of different teachers and a lot of different perspectives, a lot of coaches and books. I feel like there's a different way we can look at ... how these can work, in our life holistically. So that's what I'm going to talk to today so pull out your Human Design chart.
Rebecca Tervo: What is the second line? You'll see your personality profile is like a fraction. So the first line is your conscious line. The second line is your unconscious or your body line. So we're talking about that second line today. So I'm going to go through each of these ... lines and really ... what the second line kind of signifies, it's kind of like ... it's more about your body. It's more about your health, your vitality, it's the essence of your aura, it's your energetic aura and how you are felt out in the world. People really feel that essence of you. So again, I'm kind of going back to this question, how can your awareness of what this means for you, how can it open more? How can it expand your life? How can it bring you more into harmony and synchronicity with your energy, with what you're here to do, with your purpose in the world?
Rebecca Tervo: This is about where do you feel more grounded? So this line we're really talking about, how do you feel more grounded in your body? How do you feel more grounded in your life? So line 1 ... and I will kind of relate a little bit to what I said last week when I covered the lines, because there is a common theme if you understand the lines and the lines actually come from a very old ... a very old science called the I Ching. So if you look back at that, or if you kind of understand the essence of what each of the six lines means ... it kind of can ... any time you see the line in a different way in your body chart, you can kind of get a feeling of what is the essence of that line. So there is always some ... kind of connection between what I told you last week and what I'm going to tell you this week.
Rebecca Tervo: So I'm going to kind of relate back to last week also. But again, this week we're trying to see where do we feel grounded? How do we feel grounded? Maybe we don't even realize that, "Oh, this is a way I can nurture myself and help myself feel more grounded so I am here. I am living at a higher frequency in my energy because I am nurturing myself. I am taking care of myself. I know what my body needs to feel grounded." So that's more of what we're talking about today.
Rebecca Tervo: So line 1 again, last week I told you that line 1 meant creator. That was in your conscious. If you have a line 1 in your second, your unconscious body side, that means that you have a requirement for some solitude, you have a requirement for some stillness. You will lead a very active and physical life. Your care for your body is what will ground you. So it's important, whatever the first line profile is for you, to bring out the energy and the essence of that first line in your second line, if it's a line 1, are you taking care of your physical body? Are you living a really active and physical life? Are you taking time to love the solitude that you have in your life? And last week, I said that when you are a line 1 on the body side, your line 1 really is about taking time, making sure that you have that time for exploration and that time for yourself and deep diving and researching.
Rebecca Tervo: That was building a foundation. Now, if it's the line 1 in the second side, that means, it's more about ... still, there is this need for alone time. There's still this need, physical need, for some solitude. Also, solitude doesn't mean that you're always alone. It just means that you enjoy the idea that you do have some solitude, that you're very grounded in your individual physical body, in your individual physical life.
Rebecca Tervo: So let's move on to line 2 and line 2, I'm taking some of the archetypes, like when I said solitude, this is coming from Richard Rudd's book, his books, which are the Gene Key books. I liked the way that he puts kind of a ... personality or an archetype, I guess that's what you call it, an archetype to each of these lines so we can kind of understand what they mean. Words are so powerful. So the second line, his archetype for that is marriage when it comes in the second position of your personality profile. This does not just mean your marriage, this is basically relationships. He considers this like about relationships to something else or someone else.
Rebecca Tervo: In other words, your natural grounded essence really springs forth, I would say, in response to something you are in relationship to. That doesn't mean a person. It could mean nature, or that's how he describes, it could be nature. It could mean ... So I guess the question for line 2 is if you have a line 2 in the second, and that would be like your 6/2s and your 5/2s, the 6/2s and 5/2s are who I'm talking to here ... what do you really love to do and who do you love to be with? Because you will feel more grounded and flowy and natural and effortless, I think is if you have a line 2, if you're a 5/2 or 6/2, what do you feel like is effortless for you? Where can your naturalness shine through? It's about movement, just think of a dancer, like the movement and the flow of their body. Can you be in the harmony with the rhythm in your body?
Rebecca Tervo: It's really a natural way of being. So really let your body flow and find these things that light you up. These relationships, the people, the places, the things, what is it that really kind of grounds you into your natural effortlessness, your natural talent, your natural gifts? So then we, and actually I wanted to really cover briefly what I said last week about the line 2. You can see how that's a little bit in relationship to the line 2 being the dancer. Last week, we talked about the line 2 as a dancer.
Rebecca Tervo: So line 3, line 3 is about interaction. It's about playfulness. It's an energy of play and adventure. I kind of think of the 3 is kind of this free spirit who loves a bunch of different adventures, who loves to travel and experience a bunch of things and it's not, so with the line 3 in the second position, it's not about the end result. It's more about the journey of it. So line 3s really enjoy diversity. They enjoy the diversity of experiences of life. They need regular physical exertion. So I would say if you're line 3, that would be our 6/3s. Yeah, I think, oh, 1/3s and 6/3s. If you're a 1/3 or a 6/3, you really want to make sure that you are getting regular physical exertion and you want to be open to change and adaptation.
Rebecca Tervo: I think some line 3s is what happens if, like I talk with a lot of 1/3s, I haven't seen a lot of 6/3s, but a lot of 1/3s, there can be some judgment there about ... the need for change or the wanting to be in different things, the diversity of experiences, maybe even some failures that they've experienced. Last week we talked about how line 3 is like a changer. They're here to be a changer. They're here to really experiment and flow with knowledge and experiment and see what works. In this case, today, when we're talking about the second line, it's really about the interaction with others. It's interaction with experiences. It's the interaction and the playfulness of life. I've heard it described as a celebration, even, like line 3 is about celebrating. So line 3 has a really powerful, powerful energy. So let's not shut down that playfulness, I would say to you, if you're a 6/3 or a 1/3.
Rebecca Tervo: So now we're moving on to the line 4. If you have the line 4 in your second position, which I do, I am a 1/4 ... this is about friendship. So the archetype is friendship. It's about our breath, our connection to others. Again, I feel like there's such a ... connection a little bit between what I talked about last week what the line 4 meant in the first position and what I'm talking about this week in the second position. In the first position, what I said was ... They were here, line 4s, if the first position, there's the love of community, there's a love of serving, and they understand deeply relationships. So now again, when we're talking about the line 4 on the second position, this is really about connection with others. You feel really grounded and most at home when you're with those you love. It's about smaller groups of people. It's about connecting heart to heart. It's about nurturing and harmony. We have this, us line 4s in the second position, have this urge to bring harmony ... to relationships. We have an urge to bring harmony to the world.
Rebecca Tervo: We can have this magnetic ability to draw people into us. When we're in alignment with our energy, there's this magnetism about us. We work really well in collaboration. So I would say that it's interesting for the line 4, if you're a 1/4, a 2/4. It's 1/4 and 2/4. Yeah, those are the two that I'm talking to today, the 1/4s and 2/4s. So if you are feeling disconnected, I feel like this is where I've noticed it, is when I'm feeling disconnected, it's probably because I've disconnected myself from a community and I have done this myself. You disconnect from a community or you disconnect from people, and then you feel this kind of sadness and depression and disconnection. I feel like to feel grounded for 4s, you really do need to keep those connections and I, to be honest in-person, to me, I have talked to a lot of line 4 about this, about our in-person versus online.
Rebecca Tervo: Online is great. There's a real need to balance that out with in-person connection. I didn't give up the in-person connection during 2020. I just didn't fully give it up. I wish there was a lot more of it, but I couldn't fully give it up because it's such an integral part of me feeling grounded in my energy and me feeling grounded in my body and me feeling like I am nurtured enough then to be able to give my gifts and to ... serve. So that's what the line 4 is about. Now we're moving to the line 5. The line 5 is impact and voice. So this is ... whenever I come to the line 5s or I see line 5s, I'm like, "Oh my gosh, here's a majorly impactful person." I always think of that when I see, so these would be the 3/5s I'm talking to today. 2/5s, 3/5s.
Rebecca Tervo: So last week I told you that the five was like fixer. The power person, you have a lot of power, and there's a thing about fixing and putting things together in a simplified way for the collective. Today, when we're talking about the 3/5s and the 2/5s, we're talking about how your voice has a big impact on other people. So people will be drawn to your inner essence, just know that about yourself. Like people will be drawn. There's something that draws them in. You are here to really have a powerful voice and your voice is here to bring organization, it's to bring, maybe systemization, systematization? That word. Structure, it's here to help bring stability to the world. So, you're here to be a leader with your voice, I always think of line 5s and I know last week I said line 5 was about visionary leadership.
Rebecca Tervo: This week, the word comes up again, whether you're five is in the first position or the second position, there's something about you being the leader and so not quieting your voice, just trusting that you're here to use your voice to lead. You're here ... to lead people to something and that might feel like an amazing responsibility, or it could feel a little scary. I've talked to line 5s who felt a little bit in awe of their power. Maybe they weren't embracing it as much as they could. So now we're finally to line 6 and line 6, this is always the one where I kind of ... it's the one that's hardest for me to understand, myself.
Rebecca Tervo: I also have ... a son who's a 6/2, no he's a 6/3. I have a son who's a 6/3 and a daughter who's a 6/2. I'm really trying to ... before I ever talk about that with them, I did try to explain to my daughter one time, but I really want to try to understand it from the perspective of having talked to a lot of line 6s and research this out. Line 6 is like a ... let's just say, there's this like visionary kind of dreamer. I mean, when we're talking about line 6 now in the second position, these are your 4/6s. 4/6, so we're not talking about 6/2s and 6/3s right now. We're talking about people with the 4/6. So ... these people are ... if you have the 6 in the second position, it's like you have this deep dream or this deep vision, and this is going to be a lifelong journey of working on this dream or this vision.
Rebecca Tervo: In fact, one of the things that can happen with line 6s is getting kind of feeling defeated that you won't bring this vision to fruition. Getting defeated about it, feeling like it's never going to happen. Line 6s tend to be, you can kind of see the big picture, like line 1s will be all into the details and researching things, they're down in the rabbit hole, they're researching it all. But line 6s aren't there.
Rebecca Tervo: Line 6s are more like they can see the big picture already. They have this vision of what things are, what ... can be changed or what needs to be changed. So I feel like we're getting to the line 6 again this week, last week I said about being a teacher and a role model. This week, it's about kind of ... there's this deep dream that you're here to bring forth in your lifetime. The line 6 is about being present, just being. It's a being energy. There's ... this vision to nurture, but just being. It's a presence thing. That's what I'm going to describe it as today. You can also go back to last week and listen to the line 6, if you had the line 6 in your first position of your personality profile, because I talked about the three phases of life last week.
Rebecca Tervo: So I hope this was helpful. I love bringing this forward and I, like I said, I am currently creating a course that's about this, and this is going to be in my program, The Bloomed Program so stay tuned for that, but let me know. DM me in Facebook or Instagram and let me know what is your personality profile? I'm a 1/4 and when we actually look at your chart overall, we can see now how these two lines in your personality profile play together, and then how they work with your type and your decision-making authority and your strategy and how does that really form the whole being of who you are and how your energy comes forth in the world. But I'm really enjoying this lines discussion. And I can't wait to talk more about Human Design in future episodes.
