Join my conversation with my daughter Kendra to talk about growing up in the Church and why she felt the need to stop going at 15 years old.
Listen in to learn about some of the following:
- How she felt about church after her brother died
- What happened when she asked questions in church
- If she was scared to leave the Church
- How she finds community now
- And more…

Kendra is an amazing person! I totally enjoyed this podcast. I remember Ralph telling me about your church and just couldn’t believe it. Now to hear how the kids felt about it makes me sad. But us as parents we think we’re doing the proper thing. I’m in the same boat. I think the church can put a strain on whole family relations too like being an outsider and missing family gatherings. Your grandparents felt it too. Thank you for this. I’m looking forward to more.
She is very courageous! I’ve learned so much from her. Sometimes I really feel sad that it took me so long to be truthful and open about what I really believe vs what was taught. But, that’s all part of the journey I had to go on to get here. Now I feel so much more open to intimacy in relationships with my kids and family. Thanks for commenting!
